About the event

Join us for a day for all ages packed with skate culture, creativity, and community fun! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned skater, there's something for everyone.

Drop-In All-Day Activities

No need to book—just show up and enjoy these activities throughout the event


  • Open Skating Area 10.45 am - 2.40 pm: Skateboarding, Longboard dancing and surfskating spaces for all skill levels.

  • Board Maintenance Station hosted by Vandem Longboard Shop: Get expert tips on cleaning bearings, replacing wheels, and fine-tuning your setup.

  • Creative Corner: Stop by and personalise your skate shoes or design a sticker among other skate-themed activities.

  • Balance Board Zone: Test your skills and improve your balance.

  • Food Vendors: Support local food companies and enjoy some tasty bites

  • Explore Brands:  Stalls from brands you'll love

  • Film Screening (2:45 pm) - Film TBC

Important Information


Location

The Department of Imagination on the second floor upstairs in SPARKS, Bristol.

For directions once inside the venue, watch this Instagram video or TikTok guide.


SPARKS is

  • Easily accessible via local bus routes.

  • Surrounded by cycle racks in the Broadmead area.

  • If you drive, the nearest car park is The Galleries.


Skateboards & Protections

  • Any board you have already, skateboard, longboard or surfskate, bring it along!

  • Workshop participants must wear at least a helmet, protective gear is optional but strongly recommended.

  • All skaters not taking part in workshops we prefer you to wear a helmet and protections but this is obviously your choice.

  • We will have a selection of longboards and surfskates on the day available to borrow.

Workshops

Advance booking is preferred so we can plan resources for each workshop ahead of time. The remaining spots will be offered on the day.


Bookable Skating Classes

  • Pre-book as spots are limited to 10 per workshop.

  • All ages and abilities are welcome.

  • Bring your own protections, and boards if you have them otherwise they'll be some available to borrow.

  • £15 pp for 1 hour

  • Learn with Skate GB-qualified and first-aid-trained instructors

  • All skating workshops are for beginners, improvers and intermediate levels. If you want to learn more advanced we have other more specialised classes on our website for other dates. There is also the open skate area available to practice.

  • All skaters or the parent/guardian will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival.

Waiver and Emergency Contact Form:

Please complete this compulsory waiver and personal information form before the event once per skater.

This ensures we have emergency contacts and essential details for each participant.
