What ages do you teach?

We've taught kids from as young as 4 but most are ready aged 6 as they've developed better body awareness and longer attention spans! 
Sessions are always shaped around age, confidence and energy levels, with a relaxed, maximise fun approach 🌟

Question 2

My child is a complete beginner, is that ok?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. Lots of the children we teach are stepping on a board for the very first time. We start slow, keep things playful, and build confidence bit by bit.

Question 3

What types of skating do you teach?

Accepted Answer

We teach longboarding, surfskating, and more traditional skateboarding. 
Within longboarding are different disciplines you can read more about here

For more advanced traditional skateboarding and kids wanting to learn street tricks or technical skateboarding, we have specialist teachers we can bring in if needed.

If you have gifted your child a traditional 'popsicle' shape skateboard and want to help them learn to skate, the basic principles are the same across skateboarding, longboarding and surfskating, so we can still cover fundamental technique like pushing, carving, braking, falling and more.

Do we need our own board and equipment?

All equipment is included for private sessions.

For Club Nights, Kids Camps and other events, you can add on equipment (board + helmet + pads) rental at checkout when booking.

Where do you recommend we buy a board, helmet or padset from?

Accepted Answer

Recommended shops include:

Question 6

What should my child bring to a lesson?

Here’s your skate-ready checklist:

Helmet + pads (knees, elbows, wrists) – super important for confidence, safety and learning how to fall well (yes, falling is part of skating!). Check out our blog post on safety gear for more info and links. 
Your board if you have one. Even if you’re not sure about it, bring it along – we can check the setup and give you tips.
Clothing you don’t mind scuffing – sturdy fabrics that won’t rip easily work best as we will learn to fall and roll around on the floor!
Flat-soled shoes (skate shoes, Vans, Converse, etc.) for good grip and control. Avoid chunky running shoes, flatforms or walking boots.
Water! Everyone always forgets this one, but skating is sweaty work.
Layers for colder weather / Sun cream in hot weather 
Good vibes ☀️

Question 7

We’re a home-educating family, do you offer daytime lessons?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly work with home-educating families and daytime sessions can be a great fit.

You can book a private session or if there's a group of families we can run sessions altogether.

Availability varies, so it’s best to get in touch and we can find something that works.

Question 8

Do you teach neurodivergent children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We have experience teaching children with a range of additional needs and neurodivergent profiles. Our teaching style is flexible, calm and pressure-free, and sessions are always adapted to the individual child. You’re very welcome to share anything helpful with us in advance.

Do parents need to stay for the lesson?

Accepted Answer

Parents are very welcome to stay and watch. Some kids love that, others prefer a bit of space. We’ll go with whatever helps your child feel most comfortable.

Question 10

Do you offer regular lessons or class packs? What do you recommend?

Accepted Answer

Many families start with one session to see how it feels. From there, weekly or fortnightly lessons are great for building momentum, with monthly sessions working well once confidence has grown.

Reach out to us to discuss regular sessions and we can arrange a package that works for you with flexibility on finances if needed as well.

Can siblings or friends learn together? Is there a family discount?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly teach siblings and small groups of friends.

If you’re booking for two or three children in the same family, just let us know and we’ll work out a package that works for both parties.
