Learning to skate takes a bit of time. Annoying, we know. But also kind of the best bit.
Our courses are designed to give you proper week-by-week progression, with enough time to practise, ask questions, repeat things, forget everything, remember it again, and have those tiny “ohhh, that’s what you meant” moments.
You won’t be left to figure it all out on your own. Groups are small, with up to 10 people and two coaches, so you’ll get personal feedback that actually makes sense for your body, your board and your brain. Sometimes it’s a big technique change. Sometimes it’s one tiny adjustment that suddenly makes everything feel less chaotic.
The group is a huge part of it too. You’ll learn alongside people who are also wobbling, laughing, overthinking, surprising themselves and cheering each other on. It becomes a ready-made hype crew, and lots of people keep skating together long after the course ends.
All equipment is included, so you don’t need your own board, helmet or pads. You’ll also get to try different boards and set-ups, which is especially helpful if you’re still working out what kind of skating you actually like.
There are different courses for different stages: complete beginner, improver, surfskate, longboard, dance, freestyle, pump track and skatepark-focused sessions. Some courses are about building solid foundations. Some are about refining technique, exploring new terrain, or getting braver in places that currently make your nervous system say “absolutely not”.
You don’t always need to have completed a Soulful Skate beginner course before joining an improver course. What matters more is whether you have the right core skills for that course, like being able to push, carve, foot brake, turn and feel reasonably confident on your board.
Locations vary depending on the course. We’re often not in one place every week, because part of the magic is getting you out into different skate spots. Think of it as a longboard or skatepark safari. You’ll build confidence in different environments and get a much better feel for what skating can look like beyond one practice space.
Click into each course page for the dates, prices, level, locations and what we’ll actually be working on each week.
