Soulful Skate Co. Festival

🗓️ Sunday 11th October 2026

📍 SPARKS Bristol

A joy-filled day of longboards, surfskates, creativity and community.

This isn’t a festival where you have to know what you’re doing. It’s a festival where you get to find out, if you want to.

Come to skate.
Come to watch.
Come to wobble, chat, draw, listen to music, drink a cup of something warm, or sit on the floor and take it all in.

All of that counts.

Sunday 11th October 2026
📍 SPARKS Bristol

What is it, really?

The Soulful Skate Co. Winter Festival is a one-day indoor gathering for people who love skateboarding culture, or are curious about it, or just want to be around something playful and kind.

It’s for:

  • beginners

  • improvers

  • kids

  • grown-ups

  • non-skaters

  • nervous skaters

  • confident skaters

  • people who like vibes more than volume

No pressure to perform.
No pressure to progress.
You get to choose how you take part.

General Admission Tickets

🎟 General admission tickets are available

Workshops will be released separately and are always optional.

If you want to skate all day, you can. If you want to sit on the sidelines with a coffee and soak it up, that’s perfect too.

General admission: what you get

Your general admission ticket gives you full access to the festival, all day.

That includes:

  • Open skate spaces for longboard, surfskate and skateboard

  • Balance boards and playful movement zones

  • A creative corner with hands-on art and design activities

  • Board care and maintenance support

  • Live music and DJs throughout the day

  • Independent brands and community stalls

  • Food, drinks and sweet treats

  • Spaces to sit, rest, watch, regulate or hide for a bit

You can arrive late, leave early, take breaks, come back again, or stay all day.

Workshops

(not live yet...!)

Alongside the open, drop-in festival vibes, there will be a programme of optional, bookable workshops running throughout the day.

These sessions are for people who do want a bit more structure, guidance or progression.

Think:

  • gentle beginner foundations

  • improver / intermediate sessions

  • kids’ skate classes

  • movement, mobility and body care for skaters

  • creative workshops connected to skate culture

Workshops are not available to book yet.

They’ll be released once everything is properly shaped and ready.

👉 If you want first dibs, join the mailing list. You’ll be the first to hear when workshops go live, plus you’ll get festival updates along the way.

Charlie Rowen

Charlie is a good friend of Soulful Skate Co. and the most creative person! I’ve seen her bring to life incredible griptape designs you wouldn’t dream of; she completely understands the Soulful Skate Co. mission, and it was a no-brainer to ask her to run a workshop.

Transform your board with custom griptape art! Whether you're starting from scratch or swapping out your old grip, Charlie will guide you through bold, one-of-a-kind designs. Grip included.

Chris Hill

Christopher Hill

I am a freelance illustrator based in Bristol, I work digitally and traditionally. Most of my digital work is for printed media and web content. Whereas I use paint and pens on canvas and for customising objects including skateboards. I am able to create illustrations for promotional material, branding, editorial and narrative art.

Bring your board—or grab a blank deck—and design your own skate graphic using Posca pens, paints and creative flair. No sanding, just prime and let your imagination go wild.

Chris Briggs

I started working as a masseur in 1987. I have worked in Formula 1 across the globe and toured with great bands like Faithless, Feeder and The Spice Girls.
Mostly, my job is shifting pain and anxiety. I do the massage through your clothes while you are seated on a massage chair. I also provide workshops, panel and keynote speaking at events and exhibitions, video courses and now retreats.

A chance to unwind and reset—Chris offers 20-minute seated massages (fully clothed) designed to relieve tension and reduce anxiety. Expect Formula 1-level expertise with festival-friendly calm.

Who this is for

This festival is for you if:

  • you’ve never stood on a board before

  • you’ve skated a bit but still feel unsure

  • you’ve skated for years but like softer spaces

  • your kid wants to try skating and you want it to feel safe

  • you’re neurodivergent and need choice and clarity

  • you don’t skate at all but love the culture and creativity

You don’t need special clothes.
You don’t need confidence.
You don’t need to be “good”.

You just need to be kind.

Our values (the unspoken bit, spoken)

Soulful Skate Co. events are built around:

  • joy

  • clear boundaries and supportive teaching

  • inclusivity across age, gender and experience

  • nervous system care as much as skill-building

We care just as much about how people feel as what they learn.
