Bristol Slide Day

Our annual celebration of sliding, confidence and shared stoke!

🗓️ Sunday 10th May 2026

What is Bristol Slide Day?

Bristol Slide Day is a playful day of coached sliding sessions for adults and kids. We start at the Bridge Valley Road (closed for the marathon) and then head after lunch for a pump track gathering and slide jam.

Whether you’re brand new to sliding, looking to tidy up your technique, or you’ve got a tiny shredder keen to learn, this day is where sliding starts to feel fun rather than scary.

Small groups. Friendly coaching. Zero pressure.

Who it’s for

Bristol Slide Day is for you if:

  • You’re comfortable cruising, carving and braking on flat ground

  • You have always wanted to try sliding, but didn't know where to start

  • You taught yourself some basics but have plateaued and don't know where you're going wrong

  • You like learning alongside other lovely humans

Kids sessions are for confident young skaters who can already ride independently.

Equipment

Helmets are mandatory for all sessions. If you need to borrow pads, slide gloves or a board, you can add equipment hire at the checkout.

If you want to buy any equipment (slide gloves, larger kneepads, helmet, freeride board), check out Vandem Longboard Shop and let them know we sent you :)

How to book
All 1-hour classes are £25 per person.

Choose the workshop that fits your level and time, and add any equipment hire you need during checkout.

If you’d like to warm up beforehand or keep the momentum going, we also run Sliding Masterclasses at Ashton Court Estate throughout the year.

These are smaller, focused sessions that build the same skills you’ll use on Slide Day.

Slide Day Teachers

You’ll be taught by a small team of experienced, supportive coaches who genuinely love helping people learn to slide. Expect clear guidance, patience, humour and a lot of encouragement.

Full team being confirmed. In the meantime, check out our 2025 teachers 👀
