How club night works
Club Night runs once a week, alternating between Tuesdays and Thursdays to give everyone a fair shot at coming along. Club nights are for both longboarders and surfskaters; all boards are welcome.
We move locations depending on:
-
Weather
-
Daylight
-
What feels fun to explore that week
Some nights are simple roll-and-flow sessions. Others have a theme or shared plan. That flexibility is intentional. It keeps things fresh, playful and responsive rather than rigid.
Coaching style: helicopter, not classroom
Support is always there, but it’s not centre stage. Coaching is helicopter-style:
-
Gentle tips when you want them
-
Individual feedback as you’re skating
-
Space to explore without being interrupted
You’re never “on the spot”, and you’re never left guessing if you want help.
What a night might look like
A group warm-up, which also helps introduce you to other skaters
Discipline-specific drills to get everyone moving
Open skate time
Cool down and stretch altogether
Depending on the week, Club Night could be:
-
A group cruise through the city
-
A sunset surfskate focused session at the skatepark
-
A dance and freestyle night indoors when it’s raining
-
Skate, then board maintenance and chats
-
Group Cruise: Hillfields → Vandem
-
Dance & Flow nights at SPARKS
-
Slide Jam
-
Pump track & pub

Why club night exists
Because skating shouldn’t feel like a performance.
Because adults learn better when they feel safe.
Because community is EVERYTHING, and it makes consistency easier.
Club Night is where confidence builds quietly, friendships form naturally, and progress happens without forcing it.
