Crafternoon: Board Care + Deck Art

Service Description

Crafternoon: Board Care + Deck Art is a relaxed, creative afternoon hosted by Soulful Skate Co. at Vandem Longboard Shop. It’s part board care, part creative play, part hanging out. We’ll kick things off with the basics of board maintenance. You’ll learn how to take your board apart, clean it, understand the different parts and put it back together properly. You’ll also be able to buy any supplies you might need on the day, things like bearings, hardware or grip, with guidance on what’s right for your setup. From there, the space opens up into a creative crafternoon. You’ll have access to acrylic paints, Posca pens and spray paints to design and paint your own deck or balance board. There’s an indoor area for painting and an outdoor space if you’d like to use spray paint. You’re free to work at your own pace, chat, snack, take breaks and enjoy the process. This isn’t a strict workshop. It’s a shared, guided session with a calm, social feel. You’re welcome to come for the full session or just part of it, whatever works for you. What you can work on You have a few options, and you choose what suits you: - Bring your own deck (Please make sure it’s already sanded or primed). - Blank Dagyr deck (Available to buy directly from Vandem on the day). - Soulful Skate Co traditional skateboard popsicle-shaped deck (pre-order add-on) - Purchase yourself a simple blank deck, ready to paint. - Pre-purchase and paint a Soulful Skate Co balance board (Available with either a drainpipe roller or wooden roller). All paints and materials are included in your ticket price. You’re also very welcome to bring your own creative extras if you’d like, such as special brushes, paints, glitter or stickers. What’s included - Board maintenance guidance and use of tools - All paints, Posca pens and spray paint - Indoor and outdoor creative space - Teas and biscuits - A small, friendly group atmosphere No skating is required on the day. Adults and kids are welcome. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Painted boards may need time to fully dry at home after the session before you varnish the graphic to protect it.
