Beginner Surfskate Courses
Perhaps you were gifted a surfskate, got inspired by stylish videos on social media, want to improve your surfing, or you’re simply curious to learn something new. If you’re new to surfskating, or have tried it but never quite felt stable or in control, this course is your ideal starting point.
Designed for beginners with little to no surfskate experience, we focus on building confidence from the ground up. You’ll learn how surfskates work, how to stand comfortably on the board, and how to generate speed through body movement rather than pushing.
Sessions are progressive, supportive and technique-led, helping you develop balance, coordination and flow at your own pace. Whether your goal is to feel more confident in the skatepark or to improve your surfing on land, this course gives you strong, transferable foundations.

What to Expect
Over multiple weeks you’ll focus on surfskate-specific technique and confidence, learning how to generate speed without pushing, carve with control and move your body in a fluid, surf-inspired way.
You’ll stay with the same small, supportive crew each week, giving you time to build trust in your board, your body and each other. Expect shared wins, small breakthroughs and that addictive feeling when pumping finally clicks.
Each 90-minute session takes place outdoors at one of Bristol’s skateparks or smooth, skate-friendly spaces, progressing gently from flat ground into banks and mellow features as confidence grows.
All surfskates, helmets and pads are provided so you can simply turn up and focus on learning. If you already surf, this course is an excellent way to improve flow, turns and fitness between sessions in the water.
